Current Achievements
Zanett has been a long-term Oracle partner for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Embry-Riddle initially approached Zanett for assistance implementing Oracle Financials in 2002, quickly followed with the roll out of Self-Service Human Resources. Since then, the partnership has solidified and over the years Zanett has assisted Embry-Riddle with several initiatives including custom development, Oracle upgrades and footprint expansion, infrastructure and planning, and managed services.
In 2003, Embry-Riddle received a national award for Information Technology Success and Best Practices in Higher Education from the Sara Fine Institute largely in part to their Flight ETA System that Zanett assisted in developing. Oracle Technology was used to build
Embry Riddle's Flight Education and Training Administration (ETA) System, which is entirely web-based, running on a real-time 24x7 platform utilizing Oracle Database and a four (4) node Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) system. The Flight Systems ETA module applies "just-in-time" methods to orchestrate the costly human and capital assets required for flight training. Embry-Riddle recently added a Resource Management System module to the Flight Systems.
Since go-live, Embry-Riddle's Flight Systems and entire Oracle environment have been hosted, managed, and maintained by Zanett in one of our state-of-the-art data centers to ensure 24x7x365 availability to students, teachers, and faculty at Embry-Riddle's residential campuses in Daytona Beach, Fla., and Prescott, Ariz., and the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, where Embry-Riddle screens Air Force pilots.
Future Plans
Embry-Riddle is constantly examining ways to significantly reduce their total cost of ownership while continually growing and improving the education experience by implementing cost-effective, scalable solutions. As part of this ongoing commitment to excellence and the success of having Zanett host, manage, and maintain their Flight Systems and Oracle environment, Embry-Riddle is currently reviewing options to outsource their entire IT infrastructure.
